Aryojeding Rejotangan Tulungagung: Investigation of an Oral Literature using Van Perseun's Theory of Culture

The purpose of this research is to reveal the cultural phase of the Aryojeding Rejotangan Tulungagung site according to Van Perseun's cultural theory review. There are two relics of the adjacent site, namely the Tomb of Ki Ageng Sengguruh and the Aryojeding Temple or petilasan. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive. The results showed that mystical elements appear in the presence of myths and eating artefacts. Ontological studies found such as the pilgrimage tradition and the tradition of slametan on one suro. While in functional studies, the community positions this tomb as a source of history as well as a source of cultural treasures that should be preserved until it is named a ‘site’ which is part of the protected cultural heritage. The site also has a caretaker who supports its functional phase as an educational medium.
