Increasing water discharge due to a very high intensity of rain without sufficient infiltration area leads to floods. In Bintan Regency, Indonesia floods require a spatial approach to determine triggering process. Purpose of this study was to analyze flood characteristics occuring in Bintan Regency using spatial modeling for hydrology. HEC-RAS was integrated with Geographic Information System by running according to river conditions. In HECRAS application, entire rain catchment area is raised into one catch to be used as geometry in flood modeling. Water level from surface on modeling results is worth 1-15 m. 50 of results of flood inundation are in settlements. Results of this study showed extent of floods that occur with existing. © 2025 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.
