This study aims to analyze the influence of various mordanting treatments on the eco-printing process on sheep leather, particularly focusing on colour fastness to rubbing. Sheep leather was used as the primary material, subjected to 5 different eco-print treatments labeled as P0 (no mordant), P1 (3 alum mordant), P2 (3 tunjung mordant), P3 (3 lime mordant), and P4 (3 vinegar mordant), each replicated three times to ensure data validity. The eco-print process involves three stages: pre-mordanting, mordanting, and post-mordanting. The results indicated significant differences among eco-print treatments using different mordanting agents-no mordanting, alum, tunjung, lime, and vinegar-based on unique patterns and colours on each sheep's leather. This highlights the substantial impact of mordanting materials on the final characteristics of eco-printed leather products and emphasizes the importance of selecting the appropriate mordant to achieve the desired results in the eco-printing process. The differences in mordanting agents used in the eco-printing process of tanned leather significantly affect the final outcome of the eco-print leather product. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing.
