The study aimed to develop a regression model to estimate body weight using morphometric traits in male Sakub sheep. One hundred seventy-two male Sakub sheep, over three months old with moderate body condition scores and good health, were sampled from Brebes Regency, Central Java - Indonesia. The study measured heart girth, body length, withers height, and body weight. The data analysis was performed using SPSS Version 25, applying Pearson correlation and simple and multiple linear regression methods. The findings of the correlation analysis showed a positive association between heart girth, body length, and withers height with body weight, with correlation coefficients of 0.794, 0.838, and 0.836, respectively. The multiple linear regression analysis generated the equation BW = -102.280 + 0.321(HG) + 0.799(BL) + 0.912(WH), with a determination coefficient of 0.807. In summary, including these three measurements in a multiple regression equation offers the most accurate body weight predictions for male Sakub sheep. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing.
