Budong-Budong Dam has a diversion tunnel to divert river flow so as not to interfere with construction at main dam. Diversion tunnel is located on left side of Salulebo River. Inlet portal tunnel design does not measure slope stability at the face inlet tunnel. Assessment of slope stability to count forces or moment of resisting moment of the mass with those of driving moment. Slope stability is required for buildings used to ensure safety. The method used limit equilibrium method-based 2D compared with Bishop and Morgenstern-Price in Slide 6.0 program. The modeling was carried out under static load and earthquake loads. The data used are lithology, weathering degree, cohesion value, angle of internal friction, Geological Strength Index value, and rock strength. The portal inlet consists of tuffaceous sandstone intercalation tuffaceous siltstone, tuffaceous breccia, and residual soil. The results show that the safety factor is above 1.5 in static load and above 1.1 in earthquake load. This indicates that slope in stable condition, respectively, reinforcement is required to improve the safety factor. Even though it has been done in Limit Equilibrium Method-based 2D, it needs to be considered for modeling 3D and prevent failures under earthquake loads to validate. © 2024 Author(s).
