Abstract

The development of Industry 4.0 technologies like IoT and Big Data has improved healthcare efficiency but also raised security risks for medical devices such as ventilators. These devices are prone to cyber threats like man-in-the-middle attacks that compromise patient safety. This study suggests using a hardware security module (HSM) integrated with SoftHSM software for double encryption. This approach enhances security by securely storing cryptographic keys and improving device authentication, thus protecting data integrity and patient safety in medical devices, especially ventilators
