Numerous academic works have provided various definitions for fuzzy random variables (FRVs). In this work, we redefine the definition of FRVs based on normal fuzzy numbers with compact support. We complete the discussion by giving some examples and by developing some of its properties. By involving normal fuzzy numbers, it can be proved that a FRV can be represented as a random interval.
