Abstract

The use of agricultural insurance by farmers has helped them minimize crop losses caused by external factors. Catastro-phes are one of the main elements that can cause the greatest losses because they can damage infrastructure, threaten the existence of various living creatures, and disrupt economic stability. There hasn't been much research on the relationship between agri-cultural insurance and catastrophes, especially in terms of prudent risk management. One way to measure the magnitude of the financial losses experienced by farmers is to use their buying and selling indexes. Furthermore, to increase knowledge about reducing possible financial losses, this paper analyzes several pieces of literature on agricultural insurance related to natural catastrophes based on the selling and buying indexes from various points of view in the form of a literature review. The literature sources studied include several studies that have been conducted and published since 2018. These sources will be evaluated and studied in this paper.
