Abstract
In a heterogeneous network, interference management still becomes an issue to elevate the network performance. To obtain an optimal outcome, one of the solutions is by properly managing the resource block to decrease the cross-tier and co-tier interference. Various researches about interference minimization have been established within several optimization algorithms such as Discrete Bacterial Foraging Optimization (DBFO) and Discrete Moth flame Optimization (DMFO) Method. Even though a DMFO algorithm has been determined to figure out the interference management problem, there are some weak points regarding the inappropriateness in the use of the RB slot because there are still RB slots left or unused by the user so as the chance of the interference occurred is getting bigger. A Modified DMFO methods has yielded some significant increasements. Contrast to the previous DMFO, it was proven that the proposed method yielded an advanced performance. The results were described by signal to interference noise ratio (SINR) in a form of cumulative distribution function (CDF) by the mean value of SINR 2.50 dB. © 2021 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
