Abstract
The follicle produces the estrogen hormone, is needed in the development of the ovum; therefore, monitoring the follicle in the ovary is very important for women. This study proposes a computational model for the detection of follicles of various sizes. The proposed model consists of pre-processing, speckle noise reduction, follicle segmentation using active contour without edge and watershed. Watershed has the advantage of being able to detect joined objects, so it can recognize if there are follicles attached without having to separate follicles. The model's performance was tested on the ovary dataset ultrasound image in patients at Sakina Idaman Yogyakarta Hospital.
