Abstract
Green engineering and green architecture are one of the concepts of sustainability by considering the economic feasibility and human well-being, and keeping in mind the risk factors to keep them to a minimum. The concept can be used as a basis for making policies or regulations for the sustainability of a green campus. Assessment and ranking of the sustainability of the green campus can use the UI GreenMetric research method and has 6 criteria. Waste management is one of the criteria that must be met to achieve sustainability of the green campus program and has a weight of 18 of the total assessment. Green engineering has 12 principles that can be used as a basis for the realization of green campus sustainability, especially in the waste management system. Universitas Gadjah Mada has implemented the 12 principles of green engineering ranging from the preparation of the Standard Operational Procedure system for campus wastemanagement to the selection of renewable waste processing technology in accordance with the type of campus waste generation. Based on the GreenMetric valuation method regarding the waste management system, Universitas Gadjah Mada has a weight value of 10.50 of the total 18. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.
