Abstract
The development of traditional building technology, for necessity of modern building design need to be activate in order to look for wisely solution modern building technology problems.
Thermal comfort in modern buildings are simply achieved by installing Air Condition. This machine consumes a lot of energy and also one of the agent of environmental pollution, such as destroying Ozone layer in atmosphere.
Traditional House Building in Cangkuang Garut, with stage archetype, theoretically it can raise the thermal comfort by reducing relative humidity and speed up the air stream in the building. Physical building research in this object shows that the temperature between 18.5 °C and 27.8 °C, the relative humidity between 51% and 73%, the air velocity 0.05 m/s and 2.3 m/s. This condition can be read as effective temperature between 17.2 and 23.9 degree. This condition is not above Indonesian Thermal Standard.
The research hypothesis can be proofed, that thermal comfort in Cangkuang Sundanesse traditional building can be achieve by arranging its architectural building.
