Abstract

Integrated watershed management involves stakeholders from upstream to downstream. Human activities from various sectors impact watershed health. In implementing watershed management, coordination, integration, synchronization and synergy (CISS) of stakeholders in the Opak and Bengawan Solo watersheds needs to be monitored. Measuring the CISS index among stakeholders and assessing watershed health conditions is essential. Data collection involves primary (questionnaires using likert scales) and secondary data (for watershed health studies). Analysis includes calculating CISS indices, categorizing them, and assessing watershed health using the Watershed Carrying Capacity Assessment (WCCA). Descriptive analysis explores the relationship between CISS indices and watershed health. Identified stakeholders in Opak and Bengawan Solo watersheds, comprise elements of central government, provincial/local government, regency/city governments, businesses, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or community organizations, and academics. Overall CISS index calculations show Opak watershed at 69.28 (moderate category) and Bengawan Solo at 75.06 (good category). The CISS indices and watershed health has a positive relationship both in the Opak and Bengawan Solo watersheds. Thus, enhancing CISS implementation is crucial to improve watershed health. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.
