Abstract

Oxide-based nanomaterials have emerged as a promising platform for drug design, preparation, and delivery due to their unique physical and chemical properties. These nanomaterials can be synthesized with specific sizes, shapes, and surface properties to control their interactions with biological systems, making them attractive for drug delivery applications. Oxide-based nanomaterials can be used to enhance the stability of drugs and improve their pharmacokinetics. These materials can also be used to facilitate drug encapsulation and enhance drug delivery to specific cells or tissues. Oxide-based nanomaterials can be engineered to target specific cells or tissues, protect drugs from degradation, and control their release kinetics. These materials can also be used to enhance drug uptake and efficacy while reducing side effects and toxicity. In this review, various types of oxide-based nanomaterials, such as silica, zirconia, titania, and ceria nanomaterials have been extensively studied for drug preparation and drug delivery materials
