This study was intended to examine the effect of a combination of different NaOH concentration treatments and drying methods on the in vitro total gas production. The materials used in this study were lemuru fish oil and the capsules were starch, caustic soda, CaCh, and the chemicals for in vitro gas test analysis. This study applied a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) on 3x2 factorial and 3 replications. The parameters observed in the experiment included the total gas production. The data in this study were tested using an analysis of variance and continued with the Duncan test. The results of this study indicated that there is no interaction between the different NaOH concentrations and the drying method on the total gas production. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the difference in the NaOH levels in lemuru fish oil and the drying method has no effect on the rumen fermentation. The gas production from fractions a, b, and a + b in the sun drying method was significantly higher than on the oven drying method. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
