In this study, we assess Indonesia's preparedness for green jobs, focusing on critical aspects that influence the country's transition towards a sustainable and eco-friendly economy. The study evaluates policy frameworks related to green jobs and sheds light on the challenges and opportunities in defining and classifying green jobs within the Indonesian context. Additionally, it explores the essential skills and competencies required for green jobs and provides insights into the existing labor market through sector mapping. The study identifies specific sectors that necessitate targeted skill development initiatives. A significant challenge comes from an absence of strong quantitative documents correlating available workforce with green jobs, both in current and anticipated future conditions. Furthermore, the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders to support skills development for green jobs in Indonesia is emphasized through stakeholder mapping and analysis. The findings offer valuable knowledge and understanding of Indonesia's current landscape and trajectory in the realm of green jobs. The study's outcomes lay the foundation for informed policy-making and strategic interventions to foster a skilled and competitive green workforce. © 2024 Author(s).
