Abstract
This study aims to determine the mapping of trend publications on smart environments in disaster-prone areas. The research method uses qualitative with a bibliometric analysis approach from the 2015-2025 Scopus database with 95 documents. The results of the study show thatResearch on smart environments in disaster-prone areas continues to increase, especially in 2025, which recorded a spike of up to 53 publications. India is the country with the largest contribution, followed by China and Indonesia, while Universitas Gadjah Mada is recorded as the most active institution. This research discusses the use of technology such as sensors, big data, digital twins, and remote sensing to prevent and handle disasters. Topics that are often discussed include smart cities, disaster prevention, and the Internet of Things (IoT). In addition to technology, many studies also highlight the importance of the role of society, disaster-resistant building design, and cooperation between institutions. The results of this study provide an overview of the direction of development of global studies, which can be a reference for governments, researchers, and practitioners in developing stronger and more adaptive disaster management strategies in the future. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing.
