Abstract
Springs are one of the most important natural resources for some people. Springs are often used as the main water source to meet household needs. In Pluneng Village, Kebonarum District, Klaten Regency, there are two springs that are very important for the surrounding community, namely the Tirtomulyono Spring and the Tirtomulyani Spring. The purpose of this research is to formulate a management strategy for the two springs that is in accordance with the conditions of the area. This research is analytical descriptive using survey method. Collecting data by interviewing local community leaders and field observations. The spring management strategy is to define and analyze the spring protection zone, namely the spring point protection zone, the spring protection zone from contaminants in the form of pathogenic bacteria, and the water catchment area protection zone. In addition, if the two springs will be used for domestic water requirement, treatment should be carried out first because the total coliform bacteria for both springs do not meet the quality standards.
